PPL(H) theory course overview

The Private Pilot License theoretical knowledge instruction course consists of approximately 100 hours of instruction. ProfiPilot Training utilizes both - the distance learning and the classroom learning means of the instruction. It all depends on your preference. The PPL(H) groundschool covers aspects related to non-technical skills in an integrated manner, taking into account the particular risks associated with the PPL(H) licence and the activity.

The PPL(H) theoretical course is followed by the PPL(H) written exam in Exam Institute. 

Groundschool

The PPL(H) ground school instruction covers following subjects

• Air law,
• Human performance,
• Meteorology,
• Communications, and
• Navigation.
• Principles of flight related to helicopters
• Operational procedures related to helicopters
• Flight performance and planning related to helicopters
• Aircraft general knowledge related to helicopters

What's next

Upon completion of your PPL(H) theory, you need to complete your flying training. You can obviously complete those two trainings separately. Upon completion of your PPL(H) theory in ProfiPilot Training, you can complete your flight training anywhere else.  In any case, the theoretical knowledge instruction shall always have been completed before the PPL(H) skill test is taken.

There is only one important date to remember. Theoretical knowledge exam certificate for the issue of a PPL(H) is valid for a period of 24 months. It simply means you have to complete your PPL(H) skill test latest 24 months after completion of your theoretical knowledge exam.
