ATPL bridge course overview

As a holder of an Airline Transport Pilot Licence in another category of an aircraft you need to receive theoretical knowledge bridge instruction to the differences identified between the ATPL syllabi for different aircraft categories. The duration of the ATPL bridge course is 150 hours of ground school.

ProfiPilot Training utilizes the distance learning means of the instruction supplemented by the classroom instructor-led instruction.

The ATPL bridge course is followed by the ATPL written exam in Exam Institute. 

Subjects

The instruction covers following subjects:

• 021 – Aircraft general knowledge: airframe and systems, electrics, power plant and emergency equipment;
• 022 – Aircraft general knowledge: instrumentation;
• 030 – Performance;
• 070 – Operational procedures;
• 080 – Principles of flight.

Follow up

The ATPL theory credit covers theoretical knowledge requirements for all EASA aeroplane flight crew licences and instrument rating. Once passed the theoretical knowledge examination for an airline transport pilot licence you will be credited with the theoretical knowledge requirements for the light aircraft pilot licence, the private pilot licence, the commercial pilot licence and instrument rating (aeroplanes).

Your ATPL theory credit stays valid for 36 months for the issue of a commercial pilot licence, instrument rating, counted from the day when you have successfully completed the theoretical knowledge examination. 

The completion of the airline transport pilot licence (ATPL) theoretical knowledge examinations will remain valid for the issue of an ATPL for a period of 7 years from the last validity date of an instrument rating entered in the licence for an aeroplanes and last helicopter typerating endorsed in the licence.
