Competency-based Instrument Rating for ICAO IR holder
ICAO IR to EASA IR
If you are a holder of a EASA license such as PPL(A) or CPL(A) and at the same time you are a holder of an ICAO license with endorsed and valid instrument rating, you can easily obtain full EASA instrument rating. The training is straight forward and often not even required. Flight training is required only in case of the minimum requirements are not met.
The ICAO to EASA instrument rating conversion is followed by the IR Skill test with EASA Instrument Rating Examiner. The validity of the EASA Instrument Rating is 1 year. To revalidate your Instrument Rating you need to comply with FCL.625.IR(b).

To be qualified for the ICAO to EASA instrument rating you have to have at least of 50 hours of PIC IFR experience.
