Training

By attending this accelerated instructor training course you will become a holder of an EASA STI(A) certificate which is valid for 36 months. By holding the STI Certificate you will be able to carry out synthetic flight instruction for:

• the issue of a licence - PPL(A), CPL(A);
• the issue, revalidation or renewal of an instrument rating and a class rating or type rating for single-pilot aircraft, except for single-pilot high performance complex aeroplanes.
• synthetic flight instruction during the core flying skills training of the MPL(A) integrated training course.

The training is straig-forward and usually takes 1 day in total. The training is actually also an assessment of competence itself. So the supervised STI session with an EASA FIE(A).

Prerequisites

In order to be enrolled into the STI training course you have to hold, or have held within the 3 years prior to the training, a pilot licence and instructional privileges appropriate to the courses on which instruction is intended. In other words you have to hold or have held CRI certificate, IRI(A) certificate or FI(A) certificate.

In addition within 12 months prior the STI training you have to complete the relevant proficiency check for the class rating or type rating in simulator.

Extension

The privileges of STI may be extended to simulators representing further types of single-pilot aeroplanes if you meet following within the period of 12 months preceding the training:

• completed the simulator content of the CRI training course or TRI training course on the respective type or class;
• passed in the simulator on which flight instruction is to be conducted, the applicable section of the proficiency check for the appropriate class rating or type rating.
• for STI(A) instructing on BITD only, the proficiency check includes only appropriate exercises of a PPL(A);
• conducted, on a CPL, an instrument rating, a PPL or a class rating or type rating course, at least 3 hours of flight instruction under the supervision of an FI, a CRI(A), an IRI or a TRI nominated by the ProfiPilot Training. including at least 1 hour of flight instruction that is supervised by an Flight Instructor Examiner.
