Once fed up a bit with flying an aeroplane you might be interested to switch to helicopter or vice versa. Besides your PPL flight training on a new category, you also need a PPL bridge course followed by written exam. EASA established the bridge courses to significantly credit your current theory credit towards the licence for the other category of an aircraft.

The Private Pilot License bridge course consists of approximately 20 hours of instruction. ProfiPilot Training utilizes both - the distance learning and the classroom learning means of the instruction. It all depends on your preference. The PPL bridge ground school covers differences between your current category (e.g. aeroplanes and your desired category (e.g. Helicopters).
The PPL bridge course is followed by the PPL written exam in Exam Institute.
To be enrolled into the PPL bridge course you have to be a holder of a PPL licence on any category of aircraft.
The PPL bridge ground school instruction covers subjects different from your current category. Following subjects and differences will be covered during the ground school as well as for the written exam:
Once you have completed the appropriate elements of theoretical knowledge instruction to a satisfactory standard, you will be recommended for the written PPL exam. The PPL bridge course is completed by written theoretical knowledge exam in Exam Institute.
You have to start your PPL written exam latest 12 months after being recommended by ProfiPilot Training. To pass the written exam, you have to achieve the score of at least 75 % of each subject. All subjects have to be passed within the period of 18 months counted from the end of the calendar month when you have first attempted an examination.
Upon completion of your PPL bridge course theory, you need to complete your flying training. You can obviously complete those two trainings separately. Upon completion of your PPL bridge theory in ProfiPilot Training, you can complete your flight training anywhere else. In any case, the theoretical knowledge instruction shall always have been completed before the PPL skill test is taken.
There is only one important date to remember. Theoretical knowledge exam certificate for the issue of a LAPL is valid for a period of 24 months. It simply means you have to complete your PPL skill test latest 24 months after completion of your theoretical knowledge exam.
