Upon completion of your C525 typerating, your privileges are restricted to variant in which you passed your C525 skill test. Due to the limited simulator portfolio the privileges are usually restricted to the Cessna 525 CJ1+.

Overview

CJ1+, CJ2+ and CJ3 Differences Training overview

The aim of the CJ1+, CJ2+ or CJ3 differences training course is to provide you with sufficient theoretical knowledge instruction as well as the practical flight training to operate the C525, C525A and C525B variants of Cessna 525 Citation equipped with the FADEC. Our type instructors have vast experience operating all the variants of the Cessna 525 Citation series. We can guarantee you the flawless differences training up to the highest industry standards.

During the single training you will get the privileges to fly all three variants of the product line - CJ1+, CJ2+ and CJ3. It is because of the variant commonality.

The transition to Cessna 525 CJ1+/CJ2+/CJ3 consists of 08:00 hours of variant-related differences ground school, 02:00 hands-on training and approximately additional 7 hours of the supervised operational experience (LIFUS). As far as possible, ProfiPilot Training is delivering the differences training as a competency based training considering your previous operational experience and the real equipment of the particular serial number.

The CJ1+/CJ2+/CJ3 differences training course is followed by the LIFUS or so-called supervised operational experience.

Differences

The main differences of the CJ1+/CJ2+/CJ3 product line depends on the variants you are transitioning from. If you are coming from the CJ3+/M2, you will benefit from the general systems similarity, however the biggest challenge for you would be to master the new Collins FMS and the control of the aircraft using the Pro Line 21 system.

If you are coming from the "lower" product line models such as CJ1/CJ2 you will benefit from the comprehensive knowledge of the systems and Collins Pro-line 21. Challenge for you will be to master the completely-new airline-line Collins FMS. There will also be a bit of relieve for you as many of the actions such as performance calculations, thrust settings and others. They are more automatized compared to the previous variants.

Prerequisites

 Before being enrolled into the CJ1+/CJ2+/CJ3 differences training, you have to meet following:

  • be a holder of valid Medical Certificate Class 1 
  • be a holder of EASA ATPL(A) or EASA CPL(A) 
  • be a holder of C525 type rating, or
  • completed the FSTD part of the C525 initial typerating

Theory

 

The differences training ground school lasts 8 hours. It is delivered by distance-learning means complemented by instructor-led classroom sessions.

You will be familiarized with following variant-related content:

  • General description, limitations and differences
  • Cockpit layout and controls
  • Autopilot and controls
  • Operation of the FADEC
  • Collins ProLine 21 and FMS3000
  • Differences in fuel system and hydraulic system
  • Engine, Aircraft systems and Flight instruments
  • Cockpit, cabin and cargo, Load and balance
  • Emergency equipment and procedures

Simulator

 

Upon completion of the familiarization the supervised operational experience or line flying under supervision might be required by the operator. In addition, the EASA CE525 OSD requires to use device for the differences training. ProfiPilot Training usually uses the aircraft of your operator for this purpose. 

ProfiPilot Training is using the real aircraft for delivering the hands-on training. Important factor is also the personalization of particular serial number and installation of additional equipment. Due to this fact, theCJ1+/CJ2+/CJ3 differences training  delivered by ProfiPilot Training is truly a competency-based training.
