CL65 Renewal overview
Once the CL65 type rating becomes expired you have to comply with FCL.740(b). The CL65 renewal procedure requires to attend the refresher training in ProfiPilot Academy to brush-up your CL65 skills and gain-back the proficiency. The aim is to reach the level of proficiency to safely operate the particular CRJ variant under normal and abnormal operations including the elements identified by EASA as Training Areas of Special Emphasis. In some cases the CL65 Refresher training is not required, however it also might take a bit longer - depending on your experience and time lapsed since the last flight on the CL65.
The training is followed by the CRJ proficiency check with a CL65 TRE.
It is important to mention that there is no maximum time in which the CL65 type rating has to be renewed. It means once you have held the type rating, the renewal training will always be possible even after 20 years.
