Class Rating Instructor Multi-Engine

CRI ME ✓ teacher with two engines

Being an aviation instructor is a very important role. As a multi-engine instructor, you will be given the privileges to provide the instruction for the issue, revalidation or renewal of a multi-engine class rating as indicated in FCL.930.CRI(a).

Students will become your aviation children and at the end of the day, they will be the reflection of your instructor competences. By becoming a multi-engine instructor, majority of your students will be future professional pilots on their way towards the Frozen ATPL. Your students will always build their knowledge and experience on the multi-engine training delivered by you during this early stages of their aviation career. If you are a professional instructor, CRI ME certificate is natural step in development of your privileges ✓  Should you are a leisure or a private pilot, you will teach the students flying - same like during scuba diving ✓

Prerequisites

As an applicant for multi-engine Class Rating Instructor certificate you have to be a holder of the EASA flight crew license such as PPL(A)CPL(A) or ATPL(A) and valid respective class rating. In most of the cases MEP(land) class rating is the one required. In addition you have to meet the experience requirements of FCL.915.CRI(a):

  • 30 hours as pilot-in-command on the applicable class rating

In the past, there was a requirement to fly 30 PIC hours within last 12 months. However this requirement has been shifted by introducing Part FCL.
