Boeing 737 Base Training overview

The aim of the Boeing 737 landing training is to complete your initial Boeing 737 type rating training. The landing trianing can also be provided separately to the trainees coming to ProfiPilot Training with their course completion certificate from other training organisation. B737 base training objective is to transfer of knowledge from the simulator to the real aircraft and give the opportunity for the trainee to have the real-feel of the aircraft.

The Boeing 737 Base Training consists of following:

• Comprehensive briefing
• 6 take-offs and landings in B737 Classic or B737 Next Generation, or
• 4 take-offs and landings in case if you have an experience of at least 500 hours in similar aeroplane.

Training

During the landing training we will complete together the opened items of your training, which is usually the emergency equipment demonstration, door and emergency door operation as well as to complete the pre-flight inspection of the respective B737 variant. The landing training will be commenced by comprehensive briefing focused on theoretical elements such as:

• Touch and go technique, bounced landing possibility
• Safety pilot duties
• Visual circuit shape and path
• Non-standard base training procedures
• Required speeds and speed adjustments during the various phases of the training flight
• Engine, thrust management and thrust setting during the various phases
• Using of the checklists during the various phases of the flights

Pre-flight briefing will be followed by actual landing training with Boeing 737 TRI.

Endorsement

Upon the completion of your Boeing 737 base training, we will complete your file and provide you with the Landing training course completion certificate. You need to bring the original skill test form along with the typerating course completion certificate to your Authority. Your National Aviation Authority will then endorse the B737 300 - 900 type rating into your pilot licence. 

Next step after the license endorsement will be to gain your supervised operational experience. This B737 on-job training is provided by an operator and is usually called Line training or simply LIFUS which stands for Line Flying Under Supervision.
