TRI Refresher Seminar overview

The Type Rating Instructor refresher training for the revalidation of the TRI certificate is provided as a seminar organized by ProfiPilot Training. Besides the formal sessions, the seminar allows time for presentations and related questions. Instructor Refresher Seminar consists of formal instruction with interactive videos and other teaching aids, breakout groups and workshops. The TRI Refresher Seminar can be organized by e-learning, two-way online meetings or face-to-face seminars - depending on the amount of participants.

Content

The content of the TRI refresher seminar for revalidation will be selected from the following topics:

• relevant changes to national or EU regulations;
• the role of the instructor;
• teaching and learning styles;
• observational skills;
• instructional techniques;
• briefing and debriefing skills;
• TEM;
• human performance and limitations;
• flight safety, prevention of incidents and accidents, including those specific to the ATO;
• significant changes in the content of the relevant part of the aviation system;
• legal aspects and enforcement procedures;
• developments in competency-based instruction;
• report writing; and
• any additional topics proposed by the competent authority.

Completion

The attendance form will be completed and signed by the organiser of the seminar and Course completion certificate will be issued following attendance and satisfactory participation by the TRI including the content of the TRI refresher seminar. After the course completion, you can revalidate your TRI certificate by attending the assessment of competence with an EASA TRE or by completing the required amount of hours as TRI.
