CL65 type rating training for the most pouplar variants ✔️

Our CRJ 700/900 training programs comply with all EASA recommendations and standard operating practices required for safe operation of the CRJ. Whatever the current name is - Canadair, Bombardier or Mitsubishi it is and it will always be a CRJ for all of us who have flown it.  Our instructors flown thousands of hours in different CRJ variants. Now it is the time to share this experience and knowledge with you.

By holding the CL65 endorsement in your license you will be initially allowed to fly the CRJ700/900.. By attending the short CRJ differences training, the CL65 typerating endorsement aslo covers the  CRJ100/200 inncluding its business jet model named Challenger 850 and the longest CRJ1000. What however the CL65 does not cover are the Bombardier CL604CL605 nor the CL650 despite they all look very similar compared to the CRJ 100/200

Although CRJ100/200 aircraft looks amazingly nice, it has its own areas requiring special attention. Let ProfiPilot Training to introduce you to the members of the family of pilots flying this long Canadian cigar.

Overview

CRJ 700/900 Initial Type Rating Training course overview

The aim of the CRJ 700/900 initial type rating training course is to provide you with sufficient theoretical knowledge instruction, FSTD and landing training in the aircraft to safely operate the most popular models of CL65

The CL65 - CRJ 700/900 Type Rating course consists of following parts:

Theory

CL65 theoretical knowledge instruction or so-called CRJ 700/900 ground school is split into three phases. Should you are a Bombardier-experienced pilot, we will give you significant credit.

If you are missing MCC training we will provide you with basic MCC theoretical knowledge instruction prior the actual typerating ground school to meet the regulatory requirements.

The content of typerating training course consists of type-related profile subjects and lasts approximately 39 hours. Ground school is delivered by distance-learning means complemented by instructor-led classroom sessions. The ground school is completed by written test comprises of 100 multiple choice questions from following type-related subjects:

  • General description, limitations and differences
  • Engine, Aircraft systems and Flight instruments
  • Cockpit, cabin and cargo, Load and balance
  • Emergency equipment and procedures

In addition to the CL65 type related topics, you will receive also the UPRT groundschool lasting approximately 8 hours comprises of following:

  • Aerodynamics, Causes of and contributing factors to upsets
  • Safety review of UPRT accidents, G-load awareness and management
  • Energy management, Flight path management
  • Recognition, System malfunction, High altitude UPRT

Simulator

The simulator part of CRJ700/900 type rating course comprises of 32 hours of training focused on type-related handling, procedures and system malfunctions. If you are missing your initial MCC qualification we will add 10 more hours in the CRJ700/900 simulator to instruct you towards the basic multi-crew concept and operational philosophy. The learning curve is quite steep during the simulator training. The simulator training assumes you have through knowledge, understanding and skills in flying basic IFR procedures

You will learn how to manage the engine faillure after take-off (EFATO), in-flight engine shutdown (IFESD) and how to land with one engine inoperative (OEI) using the common operational concept of Bombardier for the CR700/900 variant. The core essence is to understand and to be able to work with EICAS and it's messages as well as to understand the Bombardier's philosphy of operating the CRJ 700/900.  In comparison with different jetliners, you will be surprised how advanced are the aircraft systems even compared for example with Boeing 737NG which was designed at the same time line CRJ700/900.

At the later stage you we will ace together the non-normal and emergency procedures including the  A/C handling with different systems malfunctions. This will include emergency flight patterns and the engine failure procedures at various position and situation. You will be able to land the CRJ 700/900 aircraft just by yourself without any help of other pilot - safely even with one-engine inoperative.
