MEP(land) renewal overview
Once the MEP(land) class rating becomes expired you have to comply with FCL.740(b). The MEP(land) renewal procedure requires to attend the refresher training in ProfiPilot Training to brush-up your MEP(land) skills and gain-back the proficiency. The aim is to reach the level of proficiency to safely operate the MEP(land) aircraft in normal and abnormal operations including the one-engine inoperative. In some cases the MEP(land) Refresher training is not required, however it also might be longer than usual depending on your experience and time lapsed since the last MEP(land) flight.
The MEP(land) refresher training is followed by the MEP(land) renewal proficiency check with an EASA Class Rating Examiner.
It is important to mention that there is no maximum time in which the MEP(land) class rating has to be renewed. It means once you have held it, the renewal training will always be possible.
