Cessna 525 (CJ1+) inital training multi-pilot

C525 type rating to smallest Citation ✔️

The Cessna 525 Citation series is a very popular light business-jet. The CJ1+ variant is the smallest, or rather the shortest variant of it along with the CJM2 and CJ1. The multi-pilot concept makes the Cessna Citation operations safer as well as simple. Although the aircraft looks simple to fly, it has its own areas of focus. As for each aircraft, some of the systems, indications and in case of malfuntions some of the checklists might require special attention. Our instructors have vast experience in all of the Cessna 525 variants and we will be delighted to guide you thru your typerating.

Overview

Cessna 525 (CJ1+) MPO Initial Type Rating course

The aim of the Cessna 525 multi-pilot initial type rating training course is to provide you with sufficient theoretical knowledge instruction, FSTD and also actual landing training in the aircraft to safely operate the respective variant of the C525. Due to limited amount of simulators representing the C525 variant, the initial type rating training is provided in CJ1+ variant of C525. Upon completion of the course your Cessna 525 typerating privileges will be restricted to multi-pilot operations. To fly the different variants of C525 you would need to attend the differences training upon the completion of the initial training.

The C525 MPO - CJ1+ Type Rating course consists of following parts:

  • 25:00 hours of MCC(A) related ground school (optional)
  • 10:00 hours of MCC(A) simulator training (optional)
  • 26:30 hours of C525 type-related ground school
  • 02:00 hours of UPRT ground school
  • 06:00 hours of system-integration training
  • 32:00 hours simulator training

The C525 Multi-pilot type rating training course is followed by C525 skill test with an EASA C525 TRE or C525 SFE in simulator. Upon successfully passed skill test, so-called base training needs to be completed prior your license endorsement application.

Theory

C525 theoretical knowledge instruction or so-called Cessna Citation ground school is split into days distributed around the typerating course. Should you are pilot with vast experience with the Proline 21 or Collins FMS, we will give you significant credit.

If you are missing MCC training we will provide you with basic MCC theoretical knowledge instruction prior the actual typerating ground school to meet the regulatory requirements.

The content of typerating training course consists of type-related profile subjects and lasts approximately 39 hours. Ground school is delivered by distance-learning means complemented by instructor-led classroom sessions. The ground school is completed by written test comprises of 100 multiple choice questions from following type-related subjects:

  • General description, limitations and differences
  • Engine, Aircraft systems and Flight instruments, FMS
  • Cockpit, cabin and cargo, Load and balance
  • Emergency equipment and procedures

In addition to the Cessna Citation type related topics, you will receive also the UPRT groundschool lasting approximately 8 hours comprises of following:

Simulator

The simulator phase of C525 type rating course comprises of 32 hours of training focused on type-related handling, procedures and system malfunctions. If you are missing your initial MCC qualification we will add 10 more hours in the CJ1+ simulator to instruct you towards the basic multi-crew concept and operational philosophy. The learning curve is quite steep during the simulator training.  You are expected to have through knowledge, understanding and skills in flying basic IFR procedures

You will learn how to manage the engine faillure after take-off (EFATO), in-flight engine shutdown (IFESD) and how to land with one engine inoperative (OEI) using the Cessna operating concept. Despite the Cessna C525 is certified as single-pilot, in case of this multi-pilot typerating it must be completed in multi-pilot environment, where one dummy or another candidate occupies the another crew operating seat. Therefore the hours are distributed as 16 hours as pilot flying and 16 hours as pilot non-flying.
