TMG class rating revalidation made easy

Your TMG class rating is valid for 2 years. If you meet the experience required for revalidation by experience, you have to fly one training flight with an instructor. If you are at the same time holder of SEP(Land) class rating, you can meet the experience requirements and the training flight in either class. You should book an appointment with us if you are a pilot who is not actively flying any other type or class of an aeroplane.

If you do not meet the revalidation criteria, we will organize an EASA Class Rating Examiner TMG to fly the checkride with you.

Overview

TMG revalidation training flight

The aim of the TMG revalidation training is to provide you with flight training required to revalidate your TMG considering the previous experience. So you can continue exercise your TMG privileges beyond the current expiry date.

The TMG Class Rating training course consists of two parts complementary to each other:

  • Briefing
  • 01:00 hours Flight training with instructor

There is no need to fly the TMG LPC with EASA Class Rating Examiner anymore. The validity of the TMG is 2 years.

Prerequisites

To be eligible for TMG revalidation by experience thus for the training flight with an instructor, you have to be obviously a holder of the EASA flight crew license such as PPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A) with valid medical certificate respective to your license. As a holder of CPL(A) or ATPL(A) you have to be holder of Class 1 medical.

For re-validation by experience your TMG class rating has to be within the validity period. In addition you have to meet the experience requirements of FCL.740.A(b)(1)(ii). That means within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of TMG, flown  12 hours of flight time in the TMG, including:

  • 6 hours as pilot-in-command,
  • 12 take-offs and 12 landings.

Briefing

Before the TMG training flight takes place, the ProfiPilot Academy instructor will hold with you a comprehensive pre-flight briefing. Besides the regular pre-flight briefing items such as considering the Meteo, notams, etc the briefing will be focused on all of the following:

  • Threat an Error Management 
  • decision-making when encountering adverse meteorological conditions or unintentional IMC
  • navigation flight capabilities
  • recovery strategies for different stall scenarios

Flying

The TMG revalidation training flight in ProfiPilot Academy is based on the exercise items of the TMG proficiency check, as deemed relevant by the instructor, and depending on the experience of the candidate. 

  • Pre-flight and departure
  • Air Work
  • Arrival and landings
  • Abnormal and emergency procedures
  • Upset prevention and recovery training that covers:
    • clean stall;
    • approach to stall in descending turn with bank with approach configuration and power;
    • approach to stall in landing configuration and power;
    • approach to stall, climbing turn with take-off flap and climb power

Completion

The TMG revalidation training course is completed by the course completion. Provided you meet the flight requirements experience required for the revalidation by experience, your TMG class rating will be revalidated either on-site by an instructor or by your Issuing authority for next 2 years.

AIRBUS A320 TYPE RATING program structure The course consists of Airbus A320 Type Rating (theory and full flight simulator training), followed by Base Training and an optional job interview preparation course.
