Multi Crew Cooperation Instructor course

Get your MCC Instructor certification ✔️

The  MCCI(A) training course is a more competency-based method of training. The course requires you to be an experienced pilot in a  multi-crew operations environment. The course is very straight forward and consists of a single session which is training and assessment of your competence at the same time. If you are looking for the easiest way to become a  multi-crew instructor , this course is just for you.

Should you be a  SFI  or  TRI  on  a multi-pilot airplane  (such as  Boeing 737 or  Bombardier CRJ ), your SFI/TRI privileges also cover the  MCCI(A) privileges .

Overview

MCCI(A) Course Overview

The aim of the Multi Crew Cooperation Instructor  training course is to bring your competence up to the standard required for the role of an instructor for general  multi-crew operation. The course gives you the adequate training in theoretical knowledge instruction and simulator instruction to instruct those aspects of MCC(A) required by an applicant for a type rating on a first multi-pilot  airplane. You will learn how to identify common errors and how to correct them properly. This is the essence of the course.

The Multi Crew Cooperation Instructor  training course consists of three parts:

  • Part 1: 25 hours of teaching and learning iaw AMC1 FCL.920;
  • Part 2: Technical training related to the type of FSTD where the applicant wishes to instruct;
  • Part 3: 3 hours of practical instruction in the simulator

The course is completed by  assessment of competence done by  Course instructor . Requirements for  revalidation and  renewal  of  MCCI(A) are similar to  the initial issue .

It means if you hold or have held any  EASA instructor certificate you will be credited in full towards this module.

The  Teaching and Learning module consists of 25 hours of ground school including the workshops and covers the following topics:

  • The learning process, The teaching process, Training philosophies
  • Techniques of applied instruction, Student evaluation and testing
  • Training program development, Training administration

Briefings

The objective of the technical training is to apply the core instructor competencies acquired during the teaching and learning training to MCC training . The FSTD training consists of the application of core instructor competencies to MCC training in a commercial air transport environment, including principles of threat and error management and Crew Resource Management.

The content of the training program covers  MCC course exercises in sufficient depth to meet the standard required for the issue of the MCCI(A) certificate . The course is related to the type on which you wish to instruct. Course also contains the identification and application of human factors (as set in the ATPL syllabus 040) related to MCC aspects of the training.

Simulator

The duration of simulator training is 3 hours of practical instruction. This may be flight instruction or MCC instruction on the relevant FNPT II/III MCC, FTD 2/3 or FFS, under the supervision of a TRI, SFI or MCCI nominated by ProfiPilot Training . These hours of flight instruction under supervision also include the assessment of competence .

The content of the instruction program covers the training exercises as applicable to the Multi Crew Cooperation  requirements for a multi-pilot type rating . The exercises are performed in a simulated commercial air transport environment. The instruction covers the following areas:

  • pre-flight preparation and pre-flight checks;
  • before take-off checks and normal take-offs with different flap settings;
  • rejected take-offs; crosswind take-offs; take-offs at maximum takeoff mass; engine failure after v1;
  • normal and abnormal operation of aircraft systems, use of checklists;
  • selected emergency procedures such as engine failure and fire, smoke control and removal, windshear during take-off and landing, emergency descent, incapacitation of a flight crew member;
  • early recognition of and reaction on approaching stall in differing aircraft configurations;
  • instrument flight procedures, including holding procedures;
  • go-arounds; normal and with one engine simulated inoperative;
  • landings, normal, crosswind and with one engine simulated inoperative.
