To renew an expired TRI or SFI certificate for Challenger 300/350/3500 you have to meet the requirements of FCL.940.TRI. Within a period of 12 months you have to complete the renewal procedure which includes the instructor refresher training provided by ProfiPilot Training. The TRI/SFI CL30 Refresher is tailored made to you and your experience. The renewal refresher training can be as short as the theoretical TRI/SFI refresher focused on the news in the insdustry, however it also might be longer and cover the Challenger 300/350/3500 type-related items depending on your overall and instructional experience.

To renew the validity of TRI CL30 certificate, you are required, in last 12 months to complete at least:

•  at least 30 route sectors, including take-offs and landings in Challenger 300/350/3500. 15 out of 30 sectors can be completed in an FFS for example as a part of your recurrent training
• TRI renewal refresher training as a TRI at an ProfiPilot Training which shall cover the relevant elements of the TRI CL30 training course;

To renew the validity of SFI CL30 certificate, you are required, in last 12 months to complete at least:

• skill test for the issue of CL30 typarating
• SFI renewal refresher training as a SFI at an ProfiPilot Training which shall cover the relevant elements of the SFI CL30 training course;

Upon completion of the Challenger 300/350/3500 TRI or SFI refresher training, you will be required to attend the assessment of competence in accordance with point FCL.935 with EASA Type Rating Examiner - TRE CL30.

Theory

The renewal SFI or TRI Refresher training for Challenger 300/350/3500 needs to be tailored-made considering your previous experience. In most cases the groundschool part of the SFI or TRI Refresher consists of brush-up of your type-related as well as general technical training skills combined with delivering some theoretical knowledge lessons towards the Challenger 300/350/3500. This is usually done as briefing or de-briefing for ProfiPilot Training trainees. There is very simple objective behind. We want you to brush-up your instructor competences and to pass the assessment of competence. .

We may however also come to the conclusion that is is sufficient to complete the refresher seminar to refresh your instructor competences. In that case the topics are selected carefully around the major regulatory changes.Recently it was a change in LDTA, fuel planing, instrument approach categorization, alternate aerodrome planning and so on. 

Completion

After successful completion of the SFI CL30 or TRI CL30 refresher training, ProfiPilot Training will issue the Course completion certificate which describes the evaluation of your experience and the Challenger 300/350/3500 refresher training you have received. The document serves as the recommendation for the TRI AoC or SFI AoC with EASA TRE in the simulator representing the Challenger 300 Series aircraft. Due to limited amount of simulators, the Assessment of Competence is usually done in the simulator representing Challenger 350 or Challenger 3500 variants.
