CPL(H) theory course overview

The Commercial Pilot License theoretical knowledge instruction course consists of approximately 250 hours of instruction related to the operation of the helicopter. The aim of the course is to understand and apply the subject knowledge in order to be able to identify and manage threats and errors effectively and to meet the Area 100 KSA minimum standard.

ProfiPilot Training utilizes both - the distance learning means of the instruction supplemented by the classroom instructor-led instruction.

The CPL(H) theoretical course is followed by the CPL(H) written exam in Exam Institute. 

Subjects

The instruction covers following subjects

• 010 Air law;
• 021 Aircraft general knowledge — airframe/systems/power plant;
• 022 Aircraft general knowledge — instrumentation;
• 031 Mass and balance;
• 034 Performance;
• 033 Flight planning and monitoring;
• 040 Human performance;
• 050 Meteorology;
• 061 General navigation;
• 062 Radio navigation;
• 070 Operational procedures;
• 080 Principles of flight; and
• 090 Communications.

Privileges

Upon completion of your CPL(H) theory, you need to complete your flying training to get your CPL(H). The common practice is to complete those two trainings separately and commence your CPL(H) flight training upon the completion of the written exams.

There is only one important date to remember. Theoretical knowledge exam certificate for the issue of a CPL(A) is valid for a period of 36 months. It simply means you have to complete your CPL(H) skill test latest 36 months after completion of your theoretical knowledge exam.
